Louisiana Swamp Kayak Tours and Rentals

We are excited to offer our first year of guided tours in the wonder that is the cypress-tupelo swamp in and around Tickfaw State Park https://www.lastateparks.com/parks-preserves/tickfaw-state-park near Springfield, LA in between New Orleans and Baton Rouge about an hour’s drive from each. Launching from the park’s boat ramp we’ll do a two hour circle tour that takes you where no other boat can go! Spared from the logging days, we’ll see towering cypress trees that are estimated at over 500 years old. Sequoias of the South! Our kayaks will allow us to meander through the heart of the swamp with trees that evoke the feeling of a sculpture garden. The swamp teems with life! A typical tour brings forth a cast of characters that might include: egrets, alligators, wood ducks, snakes, herons, owls, wood peckers and a host of song birds. Under the canopy of the cypress and tupelo trees the swamp has a cathedral of nature feel that gives a pristine peaceful sense of retreat.

Mississippi Backwaters/Guided Kayak Tours & Group Rentals

The Merry Green Marvel offers our third season of guided kayak tours of the Mississippi Backwaters near DeSoto, WI. Experience the diversity of life in these calm waters as we make our way around these islands and sloughs braided by the waters of the great Mississippi. In a typical tour we often see Eagles, Great Blue Heron, Turtles and various water fowl. Occasionally beaver and muskrats show their faces! Thanks to all who supported these tours since our start up in 2023 . Look for us to start the 2025 season in May and run tours through til October. We’d love for you to join us in marveling our way through this amazing habitat!
